FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Many Jesusjoints paintings are elegantly framed in hand-picked thrifted frames, each showcasing its own unique charm. These carefully selected frames are often refurbished and repainted, adding character and a touch of history to the artwork, with small, delightful imperfections that enrich each piece's story. I also source new frames from boutique home stores to ensure that every painting is beautifully presented and complements its individual style.
What is a jesusjoint?
A Jesusjoint is more than just a piece of art—it's a way of life. It symbolizes choosing a path of surreality and self-discovery, blending spiritual and artistic elements into a distinctive form of expression. A Jesusjoint can take many forms—a painting, an idea, or whatever you interpret it to be—inviting you to explore new dimensions of thought and imagination.
Or, if you prefer, it could simply represent smoking a cross joint. The meaning is as fluid as your experience.
Why did you name your brand “Jesusjoints”?
The name "Jesusjoints" emerged from my experiences in Catholic private schools, where art teachers often told me I wouldn’t succeed as a professional artist and were openly critical of my work. Naming my brand "Jesusjoints" was a way of pushing back against their doubt—a rebellious "fuck you" to their criticism. Over time, the name stuck, and people began to refer to me by it.
It’s now a significant part of my identity and brand, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
How long does a painting take to create?
The time it takes to complete a painting varies depending on its complexity and size. On average, a piece can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Every step, from concept to the final touches, is handled with care to ensure each piece meets the highest standards of quality and detail.
Can you draw me a tattoo?
No, I don't create tattoo designs directly. However, you can commission a painting from me and use that artwork as a tattoo design, which you can bring to your chosen tattoo artist. If you do this, I kindly request that you give me art credit for the original design.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. I find ideas in Juxtapoz magazine, Hi-Fructose magazine, and from artists I follow on Instagram. The beach is a constant source of inspiration, as is listening to podcasts and documentaries about my role models, both alive and deceased. I also gain inspiration from gardening and observing nature. I keep composition books as diaries to jot down every creative thought, and I'm a big fan of sticky notes, leaving ideas scattered everywhere. All these elements combine to fuel my artistic process.
Do You accept debit/credit cards and Paypal?
Yes, I accept credit card, debit card, and PayPal. All prices are in USD but all currencies will be accepted at the current exchange rate.
When will my prints arrive?
Prints usually take a maximum of 2 weeks from the time of purchase in order to be prepared for shipment, as I am hand printing and packaging each print myself!
All orders will be sent out with a tracking number sent to your email when shipped.
What is the difference between a Limited Edition print and Regular print?
Limited Edition prints: A "signed and numbered limited edition print” is a print from an edition that is limited to a particular amount. Meaning, only a determined amount of prints are printed, and once sold out will not be printed again. Each print will have its own number. Usually in the lower left corner of the print and outside the image you can find for instance 161/500. This example means that the copy you hold in your hands is the number 161 out of a total edition of 500.
Regular Prints: A signed and labeled regular print will be continually printed when ran out.
Why was my order refunded? Can I receive a refund on a fine piece of art?
Refunds typically occur if there was an issue with the selected shipping and handling option. I will always notify you via email if this happens, and refunds will be processed within a week of that email.
Please note, all sales of original fine art pieces and website orders are final. No refunds will be issued for works being paid off under a payment plan.
