COMMISSIONS

I’m excited to work with you on creating a one-of-a-kind oil painting that reflects your vision. To help guide you through the process, I’ve outlined everything you need to know, from selecting the subject matter to receiving your finished artwork. Here’s how it works:

COMMISSION EXAMPLES FROM PAST CLIENTS:

1. select ON THE SUBJECT MATTER

The first step in commissioning your custom artwork is deciding what you’d like me to paint. If you love a piece I’ve previously sold, I won’t replicate it exactly, but I can create something similar, capturing the essence and style of the original. Feel free to browse through my portfolio and let me know which paintings resonate with you and why—this helps me understand your aesthetic preferences.

For custom portraits or subjects, whether it’s a beloved pet, a family member, or a scene that’s meaningful to you, please send me a high-resolution, well-lit photograph to use as a reference. You can send multiple photos if you like, giving me various angles or different lighting to work from. The more detail I have, the better I can capture the personality and spirit of the subject.

2. CHOOSE the right SIZE

When selecting the size of your painting, consider the space where the artwork will be displayed. I’m happy to discuss custom sizing to ensure the piece fits perfectly in your desired area. Pricing for commissions varies due to the time, effort, and level of detail required, but here are some general estimates based on common sizes:

  • 5” x 7” – Starting between $250-375 (plus shipping)

  • 8” x 10” – Starting between $500-600 (plus shipping)

  • 11” x 14” – Starting at $900 (plus shipping)

  • 16” x 20” – Starting at $1200-1800 (plus shipping)

  • 18” x 24” – Starting at $2000-2600 (plus shipping)

  • 24” x 30” – Starting at $3200-3500 (plus shipping)

  • Large Scale Pieces (24” x 36” and up) – $3500 to $15,000 depending on complexity and detail

Please note: Pricing is based on a combination of factors, including the level of detail, hours spent on the piece, materials, and the overall design. Final costs may be adjusted according to your unique requirements and vision.

3. PAYMENT process

Once I’ve finalized the subject matter and size, we can move forward with the payment process. A non-refundable deposit is required before I begin work on your painting, which ensures your spot on my commission schedule and secures the materials for your project.

The payment methods I currently accept are:

  • Venmo: @jesusjoints

  • Cashapp: @jesusjoints

  • Zelle

  • Check: If preferred, you can mail a check directly.

The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the painting, and I’ll send you updates and photos of the work in progress so you can see how your piece is coming along.

4. COMPLETION timeline

The time it takes to complete a commissioned painting depends on the complexity of the design and my current workload. On average, a painting can take anywhere from one week to several months. I’ll keep you updated throughout the process and give you a realistic timeline based on my current commission schedule. Together, we’ll set a completion deadline that works for both of us.

I’ll also check in with you during key stages of the painting to ensure it’s aligned with your expectations. Your feedback is important to me, and I want to make sure you’re thrilled with the final piece.

5. Shipping your artwork

Once your painting is complete and the final payment has been made, I’ll arrange shipping. I work with professional shipping carriers to ensure your artwork is packed securely and arrives safely. Here’s how the shipping process works:

  • Shipping Quote: I’ll provide you with a shipping estimate based on the size and destination of your artwork. This cost will be added to your final invoice.

  • Tracking and Insurance: After shipping, I’ll provide a tracking number so you can monitor your package’s progress. All shipments are fully insured to give you peace of mind.

  • Packing: Your artwork will be carefully wrapped and packaged to protect it during transit. If you prefer local pick-up or delivery, we can arrange that as well, depending on your location.
