Over The Moon Art Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for artists and musicians to participate in an upcoming group exhibition curated by Meg Hadley, known in the art world as Jesusjoints. This exhibition will create a multi-sensory experience that explores themes of floral decay, life and death, and sacred remnants of the past. Artists whose work engages with these themes are invited to submit for consideration.

The exhibition will feature a carefully curated selection of works set within a dark, immersive atmosphere that fuses visual art and sound. The space will evoke a meditation on the fleeting nature of beauty, spiritual undertones, and the reclaiming process of nature.

About the Curator

Meg Hadley (Jesusjoints) is a contemporary impressionist artist known for creating captivating oil paintings on glass panels. Her work blends dark art themes, moody aesthetics, and provocative religious and pop culture imagery. Through vibrant oil paints, thick brushstrokes, and dynamic mixed media, she crafts mind-bending perspectives on religious themes that challenge conventional interpretations of beauty and capture the divine chaos of reality. The glass panels serve as both a medium and a metaphor, mirroring the fragility of belief systems and the human psyche.

Jesusjoints’ work invites viewers to explore the intersection of spirituality and contemporary culture through tangible reflections of human experience.

Statement:
Welcome to the dark, psychological realm of contemporary impressionism that is Jesusjoints. Through mind-bending perspectives on religious themes, this work captures the divine chaos of reality, instilling a spectrum of emotions that challenge conventional interpretations of beauty. Vibrant oil paints, thick brushstrokes, and dynamic mixed media converge to create a uniquely visceral experience, igniting a sense of mental warfare within the viewer. Glass, the primary medium, serves as a profound metaphor for fragility, mirroring the delicate nature of belief systems and the psyche, capable of shattering like reality itself if not handled with care.

For Visual Artists:

We are seeking visual artists working in all mediums to submit. Whether you work in painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, or installation art, we invite you to submit works that respond to the overarching themes of decay, resurrection, eerie yet ethereal compositions, and the fleeting nature of existence. The selected pieces will be presented in a curated, immersive space designed to engage the senses.

For Musicians/DJs:

We are seeking 1-2 musicians or DJ(s) to contribute to the immersive environment of the exhibition. The selected musicians will help to shape the atmosphere of the night, complementing the visual artwork with ambient, operatic, or cinematic soundscapes. Music that evokes mourning, resurrection, and transformation will be ideal.

Preferred Styles:

  • Dark ambient, operatic, and cinematic music

  • Haunting gospel, symphonic, or electronic compositions

  • Atmospheric soundscapes that deepen the immersive experience of the exhibition

Eligibility:

- Open to all artists worldwide, aged 18 and over.
- All visual arts media are eligible, including drawing, printmaking, painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and video.
- All submitted works must be original, created within the last five years. 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Payment and online submissions must be completed by April 30, 2025

  • Online Submissions only.

  • Required Submission Materials:

    -Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email. Please include Instagram and Website. 

  • Artist Statement
    (200 words maximum) 

  • Artwork Details
    -Title, Media, Dimensions (H x W x D), Year Completed, and Sale Price.

  • For Visual Artists: Submit up to 5 works for $25

  • For Musicians/DJs: Submit a sample set, demo, or performance link to jesusjointsart.com 

Artwork Specifications: 

  • Wall Mounted pieces: Maximum of 4 foot 

  • Sculpture: Must fit through a standard door and be no larger than 3 feet 

  • Framing: Work must be ready to hang with proper wiring. Saw tooth hangers, magnets, or tacks are NOT ALLOWED.

  • Video/Film: Artists must provide appropriate equipment for display. 

Gallery Commission: 30% on all sales

This exhibition is an opportunity to be part of a thoughtfully curated, immersive art experience. The selected works will be presented in an environment designed to engage the senses and evoke reflection on the fragility of existence, the sacred, and the haunting beauty of decay.

  • All work shipped via FedEx, UPS, DHL must arrive by Wednesday, May 7, 2025, by 4 PM EST. Schedule deliveries between 10:00am and 4:00pm

  • Delivered via FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL ONLY - PLEASE NOTE:  ​ All shipping costs and liability of artwork during shipment are the responsibility of the artist.

  • All entries must have a prepaid downloaded FedEx, UPS, or DHL return shipping label with barcode included in the package.

  • Artists are responsible for shipping costs and liability during transit.

  • Prepaid return shipping labels (with barcodes) must be included for return shipping.

  • Jesusjoints Art and Over The Moon Art Studios is not responsible for lost or damaged work during transit or after the designated pick-up period.

  • Artwork must be picked up on July 15, 2025. Jesusjoints Art and Over The Moon Art Studios are not responsible for any work left after this date. 

  • Media/Public Relations Release: Jesusjoints Art and Over The Moon Art Studios reserves the right to use digital images of accepted and exhibited artwork for media and website PR and advertising.
